We are setting up the first maize processing unit in Manono, producing white, fine, hygienic flour for Tanganyika and the wider Katanga region.

Why AMANI FOODS
In Manono, maize is sold raw at very low prices. In the cities of Katanga, flour is expensive (30,000 to 45,000 FC per 25 kg bag) and its quality varies. We connect the two.
The problem
In Manono there is no local processing unit: no added value, rural poverty, and young people leaving.
In the wider Katanga region, notably Lubumbashi (over 600 km from Manono), imported or artisanally milled flour is inconsistent, and a 25 kg bag sells for 30,000 to 45,000 FC.
Our solution
The first industrial-quality maize processing unit in Manono.
We will buy maize directly from cooperatives at a fair price, then hull, mill, sieve and bag it cleanly.
AMANI flour, at launch
White dent maize flour, hulled, mechanically milled and sieved (0.8–1 mm particle size). The whiteness of imported brands, at a local price.
- Grain sorted for every batch
- Moisture ≤ 13%
- Certifiable production hygiene
- Short, traceable supply chain
The price varies with distance and delivery city. Ask for a price on WhatsApp.
From field to bag
A short, traceable supply chain, from the Manono producer to your table.
- PurchaseMaize is bought directly from Manono cooperatives at a fair price.
- HullingThe grain is sorted and hulled: this is what makes the flour white.
- MillingMechanical grinding and sieving, with moisture of 13% or less.
- BaggingPacked in clean 5, 10 and 25 kg bags.
Maize from Manono
Manono, in Tanganyika, produces maize in abundance, season after season. With no processing unit, small producers sell their harvest raw, at very low prices.
We want that value to stay in Manono. Are you a cooperative or a maize producer in the area? Write to us on WhatsApp.
Every bag of flour puts Manono to work
“Amani” means peace: the kind that comes from economic activity. Here is what we are building.
Operators, handlers, sales staff: jobs that did not exist in Manono.
Fair incomes
Direct purchase from cooperatives, with no middlemen.
Healthier flour
Clean, controlled, aflatoxin-free: better health for families.
A reason to stay
A project born in the heart of Tanganyika so that young people can build at home.
